Wimbledon Tickets 2023

Dear Members

The LTA has given information regarding the Wimbledon Ballot.

Clubs will no longer as last year be allocated Wimbledon tickets based on the number of our members who are LTA Members (formerly known as British Tennis Members) and who opt into the Wimbledon Ballot.

Instead, Wimbledon tickets will be randomly allocated by the LTA to any eligible LTA member of an affiliated Tennis Club who opts into the Wimbledon Ballot. If you are already a LTA member, the LTA will be contacting you directly about this at the appropriate time. Below as last year, please see copied and pasted the following paragraphs from the LTA website for your information:

'The LTA Members Wimbledon Ballot will be centrally administered to ensure a fair and transparent process, to reduce administrative burden on volunteers and will align us with the AELTC public ballot process.

All eligible and Opted In members will be included with all tickets allocated to members randomly balloted out to these members. Every eligible and Opted In member will get the same chance as every other member in the centralised ballot.

If any LTA Member declines tickets or misses the payment deadline, the tickets will be returned to the ballot and re-balloted to another LTA Member who has not yet been offered tickets. This could be any LTA Member that is eligible and Opted In and may not go to another member of the same club as the member who declines or misses the payment deadline.

The ticket Terms and Conditions (which are set by the AELTC and have been in place for many years) state that tickets cannot be 'sold', 'advertised for sale or transferred'. Transferring also means that tickets cannot be given to friends, family, or another club member.

Members are reminded of this ticket offer purchase and when they receive their tickets in the post and can get a refund up to 24 hours before they are due to attend.'

THEREFORE, IF YOU DON'T ACTUALLY WANT THE CHANCE OF ATTENDING THE CHAMPIONSHIPS, THERE IS NO POINT IN OPTING IN TO THE BALLOT, AS YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GIVE THE TICKETS TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO DOES.

Regards
The Committee
