Suggestions for January 23

Dear Members

Thank you once again for using the facility of the 'suggestion box', the items below were raised on your behalf at the last committee meeting held Monday 6th February.

1a) During the winter months especially when cold, ask the bar person to close the curtains. Not named.

Committee response- it is not the bar persons responsibility to close the curtains, members are welcomed to make the club environment warm and comfortable.

1b) Add another curtain over the downstairs door space - Not named

Committee response - due to fire regulations/health & safety, we are not permitted to cover this area totally as it is a fire exit and entanglement could occur.

2) Team captains to ensure that match fees are paid up on the game night. Named

Committee response- it is not the bar person or anyone else's responsibility to chase/pester to collect these monies.

3) Put the netting back up on the tennis courts and replace torn wind break club side of tennis courts. Not named.

Committee response - work will be completed on the large wall shortly and the scope for the netting/size is going to be reviewed in due course.
All banners around the tennis courts are awaiting a revamp and possible replacement- please bear with us. G&P have this in hand.

4) Ladies shower not hot enough and only one works. Not named.

Committee response - G&P will review thermostatic control bearing in mind everyone likes a different temperature to shower with. G&P has this under review in action plan.

5) That the kids playing tennis are told to flush the chains after using the toilet. Not named.

Committee response - without evidence it has been difficult to resolve this as we are aware any member can void in the 'disabled toilet' if this is where it occurred. If this is witnessed again, please bring to the attention of the coach/committee with date and time. Do not approach the child themselves please. A polite reminder therefore to all members to be considerate when using toilet facilities.

6) A notice or email to members about not coming into the squash courts with outdoor shoes on or indeed squash playing shoes from their vehicles. Named.

Committee response - this is costing members/the club money -this has arisen several times previously, the club spend a lot of the income on court surfaces so going forward anyone caught/found not adhering to this request their membership will be addressed by the committee. It is also a members' responsibility to observe and stop this activity and so please ensure your opponents/partners are not doing this before you play them.

Thank you
The Committee
