BTSC Committee Business
Good Evening,
I would like to share some insight into the workings of the BTSC Committee with you.
There are 11 Committee officers, the majority of whom were elected at the 2024 AGM in September. We have one vacant post, that of Marketing & Social Media Secretary.
The Committee meet every 1st Monday of the month to discuss the Agenda of the day and to follow up on any outstanding actions. Agenda items are agreed in advance of the meeting. Suggestions from the membership are reviewed at these meetings, provided they are not anonymous.
No decision is made autonomously by any single member of the committee; all recommendations and suggestions for the improvement of BTSC are debated by the Committee before implementation. Our Treasurer ensures that any financial implications are considered before approving expenditure.
As and when required, decisions are made by the casting of votes; some decisions, such as disciplinary matters, must be voted upon by the whole Committee, no Committee member is permitted to opt out of such votes. If necessary, The Chair will use a casting vote to ensure an outcome is reached.
Where significant expenditure is required, for example, capital expenditure to upgrade Tennis Court floodlights, the Committee will present a business case to the membership to ensure everyone is aware of the costs & benefits.
As your current elected Committee, we support one another in making the best decisions for BTSC and are always mindful of the trust members place in us to lead the club forward.
Changes that impact members directly are always communicated by email or Newsletter.
