RE-OPENING SQUASH COURTS

Dear Members,

It is our ambition to open the squash courts from Monday August the 31st, but would like some idea of demand (i.e., an indication of how many squash/racketball players intend to come back and start using the club on a regular basis), so that we can plan accordingly.

Due to the current Covid restrictions, squash and racketball will be limited to:

1) Solo practice

2) Drills that adhere to social distancing (e.g., one player at the front of the court and the other player at the back, ‘sides’ etc). Here is a link to Covid-secure practice on the England Squash website: https://www.englandsquash.com/back-to-squash/ways-to-play

3) Normal squash and racketball can only be played between people from the same household or support bubble

4) No doubles to be played unless all members are from the same household or support bubble.

SQUASH/RACKETBALL BUBBLES
As an extra safety precaution, we would like to introduce the concept of ‘Squash/Racketball Bubbles’ whereby ‘bubbles’ of a maximum of six players are formed so that we can contain the impact of any potential coronavirus outbreak.

If you would like to play squash and/or racketball under the conditions outlined above, I will be asking you to submit certain information at the end of this email. This information is important to us as it may well influence our opening days, bar staffing requirements, furlough arrangements for staff etc.

Depending on the response, I will inform you if we are able to open on the 31st and Heather Green will then follow up with details and guidance on how COVID-safe squash and racketball can be played at the club.

Finally, before commencing, we will expect you to pay your membership fees if you have not already done so.

Thank you and many regards,

Shaun Baxter (BTSC, Chairman)

INFORMATION REQUIRED:

1) Name of member interested in returning to squash under the restrictions outlined above

2) The names of the other members that will be in your squash bubble (bubbles must be self-contained and cannot overlap with other bubbles. Also, please do not confuse ‘squash bubbles’ with ‘support bubbles’. Normal squash is only permitted with the latter, not the former)

3) The days and times that you are likely to play.
