Open Day - Radio Derby
Dear All,
As you may know the squash and racket ball open day is next Saturday and the team have been working hard to promote the same.
Our media campaign has now moved to local radio. Next Wednesday (21st) Radio Derby’s breakfast reporter is booked to present live from our club for the duration of their breakfast program. The reporter will be giving live interviews and has asked to play squash with one of our coaches. This gives us a great chance to promote the day further.
We have been advised by the station the below information along with a request for a cross section of the membership.
Arrival Wednesday 21st 7.00am.
First broadcast 7.30am and then every 15/ 20mins thereafter until 9.00am.
Ideally we need 4/ 5 enthusiastic members who are confident/ happy to talk on live radio based on;
1, Committee member (ideally) to talk about the club, it’s history and reasons for open day etc
2, A senior active player to talk about how long they have been playing and why they enjoy the game and being a member of the club.
3, A Squash/ racket ball coach to go through the basics and play the reporter.
4, An active lady player to talk as per 2, but also to encourage more ladies to play.
5, Anyone who’s profession or has a background that would help discuss the health benefits of playing racket sports, particularly squash or racket ball.
6, An active member in the 20-35 age bracket to talk as per 2.
Also, and obviously, we would need someone to open the club ready for the 7.00am meet and greet.
We will be given guidance before the day on the type of questions that may arise but be prepared to go with the flow.
So, if you are interested and can commit to the times above please text your name to 07788 532088 for consideration by the Open Day Group and Radio Derby who have set a certain criteria. Therefore, please don’t be offended if we kindly decline your offer.
