October Suggestions

Dear Members

Firstly, thank you to all those who have made suggestions into the new suggestion box situated in the bar area of the clubhouse.

The list is as below and was discussed at last night committee meeting:

1) Padel Court - 3 anonymous members
2) Waste bin in car park area - named
3) Anti slip runner mat in the changing rooms - named
4) Putting a stop junction and inch out zone into the road to make it safer and is a cheaper option - anonymous
5) Wheelchair access - anon
6) Reduced disabled car space down to one - named
7) Till round up button behind the bar - named

Committee responses:-
1) Padel court at the club has been explored by the committee previously and has included a visit to a neighbouring club - experts were contacted and quote received estimated for one Padel court exceeds £30k. Unfortunately, this is not financially viable and within range of our budget currently.

2) Bin - agreed -however we will be sourcing a bin that can be secured to the ground in case of high winds or antisocial behaviour. A further discussion is to take place on the role of whom will be emptying such bin.

3) Flooring in changing rooms - this has recently been raised due to a member slipping in the changing not shower area. The committee has explored the cause and has now got an action place to manage asap. Members were notified of the risk and to take care in the meantime by drying feet post showering. Members will be notified in due course when the work is to take place. We politely request that any such accidents be bought to the attention of the committee and entered into the accident book in the kitchen.

4) Junction on the drive-this was discussed at length and agreed that members should have the capacity to understand and act responsibly when leaving or entering the drive, an email was circulated following concerns raised by a member since completion of the wall repair by ESBC. There is to be further discussion on the committee re the club member appointed to speak with a council planning representative to review the building work.

5) Wheelchair access - discussed at great lengths, to note that the recent LTA 'official' visit and audit stated that knowing the age/ location/position and the demand of usage re this at the club at this moment in time we cannot fully support this financially.

6) Disabled car space - we have explored regulations (Approved document of Building Regulations in BS8300 and in Sports England car park design' regarding this and have an awareness that a minimum of 2 spaces is required. A discussion was held around current members who have reduced mobility and agreed these would remain.

7) Till change - agreed by the Treasurer this was not to be considered using our current no cash system and there was no great benefit to be achieved.

Once again thank you for the above please continue to make suggestions so we can table for discussion at the meetings. As you will be aware a few of the above are related to finance so if any of you could assist the committee to explore any funding applications please come forward.

Kind regards
The Committee
