Welcoming you All

Dear New Member

I would like to take a moment to welcome you all as the incoming Club Chair and thank you for the support you have shown by attending our Open Day and taking advantage of the Three Month Trial Membership.

I thought it would be helpful for me to help ensure that you are aware of how you can make the most of your membership and enjoy our Club to its full potential.

Whatever your racket sport there are leagues to join which, after I joined the Club as a new player myself, I found an excellent way to meet people at the Club and improve my game....although I seemed to learn most by losing.

Organising a "friendly" with people in the leagues around you using the "Members Directory" section of Mycourts is a good way of getting to play people of different standards and if the members' details are on the system they will be more than happy to be approached. Please also take a moment to check your own details are also available and accurate.

The bar opens every evening from 5.30 and is staffed to demand. The beer itself is excellent, very well priced and with busier times occurring when league games and social evenings take place I would encourage you all to come along and enjoy an evening with us.

Please keep an eye out for organised social events such as the upcoming quiz nights (add the dates in, John?) and the squash finals that will be happening in the coming months.

Lastly, I would like to make a plea to any ladies out there who enjoy tennis or just wish to give tennis a go, please feel free to put yourself forward. The ladies' tennis teams would really welcome the addition of some more players so please do come along or approach John Matthews, our Tennis Captain, using the Members' Directory and you could be telling all your friends that you represent the Club in competition!!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to meeting you face to face at the Club in the fullness of time.
