Squash Courts and Clubhouse to Re-Open this Sunday

Hi Everyone,

We are delighted to announce that we will be re-opening the squash courts from this Sunday.

Thank you to everyone who gave their responses and details of their ‘squash bubbles’ to Nigel (over 80 members and counting) which helped us to prepare and to be confident of opening from this weekend.

As mentioned in my previous email, Heather Green will follow up this announcement with details of how to play Covid-secure squash at the club.

In the meantime, if you haven’t already done so, can I please remind you that you must now pay your membership if you intend to start playing squash again at the club.

This need only be a pro rata payment for the remaining 8 months of the current membership cycle:

There are three possible forms of payment:

1) The preferred method of payment is via the MYCOURTS booking system. Simply log-in, click on ‘Membership Subscription’ in the left-hand column and follow the instructions

2) Alternatively, you can make a payment directly into the club’s bank account:

IF USING THIS METHOD, PLEASE REMEMBER TO MARK YOUR NAME CLEARLY, SO THAT WE CAN SEE THAT YOU HAVE PAID.

3) The least preferred method is via direct debit; however, if you would still like to use this method, you must contact the membership secretary Dick Lathbury to request that he reactivate your direct debit which, currently, has been put on hold for the next 12 months.

YOUR SUPPORT
During the current lockdown, we have greatly appreciated those of you who have already paid your full annual membership, even though you have been unable to play squash as it has been vital to ensure the survival of the club.

This club belongs to all of us, and I know that there are many of you who will do their utmost to protect it; consequently, although you are only expected to pay a pro rata payment (for the remaining 8 months of the year), we also appeal to you to elect to pay the full annual membership fee: it will be very gratefully received and make a huge difference.

The full membership fees in each category are as follows:

Country - £150
Country half price [U25 or bar staff] - £75
Full - £198
Half-price [U25 or bar staff] - £99
Junior 0-10 - £54
Junior 0-10 w/parent member - £42
Junior 11-17 - £66
Junior 11-17 w/parent member - £51
Partner/spouse - £132
Partner/spouse half price [U25 or bar staff] - £66
Senior - £132
Senior half price [bar staff] - £66
Social - £25
Squash team only - £25
Student - £63
Student (Summer only) - £21

Note that the MYCOURTS system will only take full annual membership payments whereas pro rata payments can be paid directly into the club bank account.

Finally, in this initial phase, the bar will be open between 7pm and 9:30pm during the week, and the relevant bar staff member will be responsible for locking the club.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the bar will be open from 6pm to 10:30, and the other good news is that we now have draught Bass back on tap.

Thank you and many regards,

Shaun Baxter (BTSC Chairman)
