Automated Lighting System for the Tennis Courts

Dear Members

Our Membership Secretary and resident electronics boffin Dick Lathbury has now installed an automated lighting system for the tennis courts.

Normally, this would be controlled by one of the coaches on any weeknight; however, coaching has now ceased over the Christmas period; consequently, we have now established a new system during the break.

Basically, you must now please book any courts via the MYCOURTS booking system. Our Head Coach Alison Smith will then programme the lights (remotely from her home) to come on and turn off accordingly on the relevant courts.

We thank Alison very much for offering to manage this, and she has even said to include her mobile number here for you to contact her if you have any problems: 07970 403 079

I would like to thank you all again for you continued patience and support throughout the challenges of the pandemic. This is your club because it is owned and run by the members. Throughout the pandemic, so many of you have shown your financial support and I thank you very much for that: it’s much appreciated.

Hopefully, we are close to emerging from this surreal nightmare to enjoy relative normality in the Spring. In the meantime, the committee will do all they can to keep us afloat by continuing to perform routine maintenance, pursuing various forms of grant funding and managing the club’s finances.

Finally, on behalf of the club committee, I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year,

Shaun Baxter (BTSC Chairman)
