Impending Membership Renewal
Dear Members,
An email requesting renewal of your annual membership (2022-2023) to Burton Tennis and Squash Club is due to be issued to you by us on the 1st of April.
As you know, currently, we are still waiting for the Council to repair the roadside wall to the club. That is ongoing, and we have even approached our local MP to expediate matters.
Although full tennis is possible on Court 1 (and possibly Court 2), it will continue to be ruled out on Courts 3 and 4 until further notice; consequently, members who predominantly play tennis, but who are not part of Alison Smith’s coaching structure, will not need to play their membership fees until the wall is repaired; furthermore, when it is repaired, those members will only be expected to pay a pro rata amount for the remaining months of the season.
It is expected that all those members who predominantly play squash will pay their annual membership fees in full immediately, as they will be unaffected. Also, all tennis players who are part of Alison Smith’s coaching structure must also renew their membership immediately in order to continue to engage in her tennis coaching sessions.
As I’m sure you can appreciate, the last few years have been a very testing time for the Club due to the disruptions posed by COVID; so, this new problem with the roadside wall comes at an extremely inconvenient time; consequently, we appreciate your continued understanding and support, so that we can ensure the ongoing survival and progression of the Club.
Finally, we will persist in doing our utmost to get this regrettable situation rectified as soon as possible and will do our best to keep you informed.
